1 1/2 lb Butter

1 lb Sugar

12 Eggs

1 lb Flour

3 lb Raisins

1 1/2 lb Currants

1/2 lb Citron peel

1/2 lb Lemon peel

1 ts Cinnamon

1 ts Allspice

1/2 ts Mace

1/2 ts Clove

1 Nutmeg,grated

3 tb Strawberry jam

1/2 lb Almonds

1 lb Dates

1 tb Baking powder

Directions: This is a copy of my grandmother's handwritten recipe, from the first quarter of this century. As with most of her other recipes, there are no directions for either mixing or baking. Liz Parkinson
