1/2cupshortening
1/2cupbrown sugar, firmly packed
2eacheggs
1/2teaspoonvanilla
1/2teaspoonbaking soda
1 1/2tablespoonbuttermilk
1cupflour
1/4teaspoonallspice
1/4teaspoonnutmeg
1/4teaspooncinnamon
1/4cupbourbon
1/2poundwhite raisins
1/2poundcandied cherries
1/2poundcandied pineapple
1/2cupflour
1 1/2cuppecans, chopped

Directions:

Cream shortening and sugar; beat in eggs and add vanilla. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Combine 1 c. flour and spices; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk and bourbon. Beat well after each addition.

Coat fruit with 1/2 c. flour; stir fruit and nuts into batter. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets and bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 min.

Makes 6 dozen cookies.
